HISTORY OF
GREAT LAKES ART and GIFTS
The Haze Art Gallery was founded in 1996 by Hazel Hotwagner (known to her friends as Haze) on the west side of the bridge on Grand River. In October 2009, the gallery moved to Turner Street and then to its current location at 306 East Grand River.
In May 2011 the Gallery changed hands from a single owner to an artist co-operative Gallery and was renamed Great Lakes Artworks.
In October 2017, the name was changed to Great Lakes Art and Gifts to better define the types of handcrafted items we offer for display and for sale.
Great Lakes Art and Gifts is an artist-owned collaborative promoting the artistry of local artists who show creativity, craftsmanship, originality, and variety. Our gallery features a wide range of juried items from wall art and mosaics, to woodworking, fiber art, soaps, and much, much more!
We are very proud of the handmade artistry displayed by over 30 Lansing area Artists.
You are invited to stop in and enjoy one of
Old Town’s most unique and diverse galleries.
