Diane Kay Embroidery
My name is Diane, and I was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. Growing up in a large family, Mom had to get creative to keep me and my seven siblings busy—especially during the summer months. She was an exceptional seamstress and taught me to sew at a young age. She also opened the door to many other crafts, from painting and working with clay to hand embroidery. Embroidery itself is an ancient art, with roots tracing back to around 30,000 BC. Today, this timeless craft continues to evolve, blending traditional techniques with modern digital tools to create works of art across a wide range of textiles. For now I am working with towels, but also practicing to master the art of “free lacing” to create 3D projects.
